T Natarajan Tested COVID-19 Positive; Coronavirus Continues To Hunt IPL 2021

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) quick bowler T Natarajan tested positive for COVID-19 at a planned RT-PCR test in front of his teams's IPL 2021 match against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Wednesday. Regardless of the positive test, the match will go on in Dubai.

The 30-year-old, who is presently asymptomatic, has isolated himself from the other members of the squad. Six close contacts of the player have additionally been put in detachment. 

As per a BCCI, all-rounder Vijay Shankar, Team director Vijay Kumar, physiotherapist Shyam Sundar J, specialist Anjana Vannan, coordinations supervisor Tushar Khedkar, and net bowler Periyasamy Ganesan have been recognized as close contacts.

"The rest of the contingent including the close contacts underwent RT-PCR tests at 5AM local time this morning and the test reports are negative. As a result, tonight's game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals will go ahead at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai." BCCI

The news comes as a stunner after severe measures were taken by the coordinators to forestall any COVID-19 cases. The cricketers were in a bio-bubble, while the hosts chose to permit a few crowds.

 Prior on May 4, IPL 2021 was delayed after several cricketers and care staff tried for COVID-19 positive. It continued after right around four months in the UAE on September 19 with reigning champs Mumbai Indians playing against Chennai Super Kings.
